NeighborMap Privacy Policy

Effective February 24, 2026

Overview

NeighborMap has no tracking, no analytics, and no third-party data sharing. All of your data stays on your device and in your private iCloud account. We never see it.

Data We Store

NeighborMap stores the information you enter about your neighborhood:

This data is stored locally on your device using Core Data and synced to your private iCloud account via CloudKit.

iCloud Sync & Sharing

Your data syncs automatically to your iCloud account so it's available across your devices. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's CloudKit framework — your data travels directly between your device and iCloud, never through our servers.

You can optionally share your map with family members via CloudKit sharing. Participants you invite receive read and write access to all shared household and resident data.

Permissions

NeighborMap does not request location permission. Map coordinates come from where you place pins, not from GPS.

Apple Services

NeighborMap uses a few Apple-provided services:

These are Apple-to-Apple communications governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Services

None. NeighborMap uses no analytics, no crash reporting, no ad networks, and no external servers. Your data never leaves the Apple ecosystem.

Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete any household or resident data directly within the app at any time. Uninstalling NeighborMap removes all local data from your device.

iCloud data can be managed in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the latest version. Continued use of NeighborMap after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
